As part of Bailiffgate Museum’s ‘Illustrating Harry Potter’ exhibition, local schools were invited to enter a competition by submitting pupil’s art work. Children could choose to design either a new sorting hat for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry or their own version of an imaginative creature.
A panel of judges chose winning entries in three age categories: 5-8, 9-12 and 13-18. We were delighted that two of the winners were from Seahouses Middle School, one in the 9-12 age range and another in the 13-18 age range. Both won with new sorting hat designs (see the photos).
Both girls attended the awards ceremony at the Bailiffgate Museum on 17th March where they were awarded with certificates. Their winning artwork is on display in the museum as part of the exhibition. Well done girls!
